F1 | Pierre Gasly tests positive for coronavirus

Through a short official statement published on his social channels, Pierre Gasly announced that he tested positive for coronavirus during some tests carried out recently. The young French driver made it known that, despite the discovery of the news, he does not present any particular symptoms and that he feels well, which is why he will continue to follow his training plan while remaining in isolation.

Gasly, in fact, was in Dubai to complete his training program while waiting for the 2021 Formula 1 season to kick off in March with the first test sessions and the inaugural race in Bahrain. The standard bearer of AlphaTauri has already taken steps to isolate himself and notify all the people he had come into contact with in the last few days, as required by local health protocols, waiting for a new swab that can certify its negativity. Previously, at the beginning of January Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc also tested positive for coronavirus, just as they were in the United Arab Emirates to spend the break period before resuming training.
