F1 | Piastri: “Little chance of landing in Formula 1 in 2022”
"Alfa Romeo? I don't think they'll call me," said the Australian
Despite the many rumors that have circulated in recent weeks, Oscar Piastri does not expect to arrive in Formula 1 starting from the 2022 season.
In an interview granted to the Jam Sports Management YouTube channel, the Australian from Prema, current leading driver of the Alpine Academy, spoke about the programs for next year, specifying how the chances of occupying a seat in Formula 1 are almost nothing, given that Alfa Romeo, it seems, is focusing more on other profiles. Piastri, after completing his season in Formula 2, will focus on the role of third driver in Alpine and will try to join Formula 1 in 2023.

“My chances of landing in Formula 1 next year are extremely low, in fact I would basically say that there are none at all,” said the Frenchman from Premia. “Zhou has been strongly linked to the seat in Alfa Romeo, which is currently occupied by Antonio Giovinazzi. To be honest, I don't think I'll be able to take that place for 2022. It's the only opportunity for next year, but I don't think they'll call me."
