F1 | Perez: “Ocon will have more pressure next year”

According to the Mexican driver, 2018 will be psychologically more difficult for his teammate to face as there will be much higher expectations on his performance.

Esteban Ocon he is one of the most promising young people for the future of Formula 1 and there are even those who predict that the Frenchman will take over Valtteri Bottas in 2019.

The 21-year-old moved to Force India after that Nico Hulkenberg was hired by Renault at the end of 2016. The relationship with Sergio Perez it wasn't idyllic this year but in the end the two made peace for the good of the team:

“He's very talented, very experienced. He arrived in Formula 1 well prepared, it is no secret that he is an excellent driver and is one of the drivers of the future. Next year people will expect a lot from him and for this reason he will have more pressure.", Perez said, speaking about Ocon.

The Mexican added that he struggled to adapt to the car's updates, especially in qualifying:

“I lacked balance, I didn't feel good during the fast lap, while Esteban was fast. Therefore, I am happy that we are now able to talk and work together on the development of the car”.

However, despite the difficulties Perez still managed to beat his teammate but admits that next year the challenge will be quite complicated.
