F1 | For Norris it is very difficult for McLaren to win a GP this season

Lando Norris he has no doubts. For the English driver the "train" for a possible victory in the McLaren it is gone. Analyzing the performances that have emerged so far on the track, where the MCL60 has shown excellent pace starting from the summer thanks to the important updates fitted to the single-seater, Norris believes that the chances of climbing to the top step of the podium in 2023 are now over as the Woking team was unable to exploit favorable tracks such as Suzuka and Losail.

In the Austin event, McLaren, thanks to the points scored by Lando Norris, promoted to second place by virtue of the disqualification imposed on Lewis Hamilton, put the arrow on Aston Martin by overtaking the Silverstone team in the Constructors' World Championship, occupying fourth place. With four races to go until the end of the season, the Woking team can count on a six-point advantage over Lawrence Stroll's team.

“Do I think our best chances are gone? I would say yes – said Norris, quoted by Autosport – I think Qatar was our best chance of winning a race. And we didn't exploit it. I don't want to be pessimistic, but I think there are no very high-speed circuits left, like Suzuka or Qatar, where we are going strong."

Norris, continuing with his analysis, added: “I don't think there are good leads coming up for us. I think the best is behind us. I want to hope that we can get good results and I think we can still fight for the podium, but these guys are too fast for me."
