F1 | Palmer: “I want to go somewhere where I can have fun”
"Formula 1 is fantastic and I would like to stay but every year there is the same pressure, unless you race for a top team"
At the end of the season, the pilot of the Renault will find himself without a seat for 2018; hence the desire to look for other adventures where we can stay for a long time.
Sixth place wasn't enough Singapore to secure a seat for next season and speaking about his future, the Englishman declared that at the moment Formula 1 is an unsafe environment for him and that is why he is looking for stability in order to develop his experience:
“If I am out of Formula 1 then a new chapter will begin for me and obviously I will give my all to stay there for the long term. Formula 1 is fantastic and I would like to stay but every year it's the same pressure, unless you're racing for one of the top teams. Therefore, I want to go to a place where I can have fun and where I have the security of being able to stay for a long time".
The Englishman has currently ruled out the option Indycar and the only seat still available in Formula 1 seems to be Williams, where however there are other drivers who would like that seat as well Felipe Massa, Paul di Resta e Robert Kubica:
“As I understand it, there is only one place and there are several drivers who are interested. There is an opportunity but I don't want to get my hopes up, I just have to do the best I can and see what comes to fruition. As for the rest, I don't know anything else.".
