F1 Alpine Ocon – In a long chat given to the columns of racingnews365.com, Esteban Ocon talked about the work carried out by Alpine during the winter, highlighting how the team only became aware of the youth problems of the A524 in the month of December, so only of the manufacturing of the car, but also of the first official events of the 2024 season. A timescale too tight to implement corrective measures which forced the transalpine team to run on the defensive in Sakhir and Jeddah.

The team, however, is already working on corrective measures - both from a mechanical and aerodynamic point of view - and the common hope is to unlock the full potential of the single-seater in a short time, so as to return to constantly fighting for positions important members of the deployment. Ocon confirms: “First problems in December”

“We only became aware of the problems in December, during a simulator activity. There were some problems that we had to resolve and today it is clear that we need to improve in view of the next races. In Saudi Arabia, compared to Bahrain, we managed to complete a good mileage, even in comparison with our rivals, and this helped us understand the weak points of the car. We have to keep pushing and I will be in the factory this week to offer my contribution. We must give everything to find solutions. There is still a lot of margin on the package, we are convinced of this, and we are working to unlock the car's performance."
