F1 | Ocon: “Next time with Perez I'll be more careful”

More controversy over the clash in Hungarian GP which involved the two pilots of the Force India. The two drivers touched at the first corner, damaging each other but still managing to finish the race in eighth and ninth place.

In a recent interview with Autosport Esteban Ocon he had the opportunity to talk about the clash and the future relationship with his teammate. He admitted that, next time, he will drive more carefully when he is near Perez.

“Yes, I'll probably be more careful next time. In any case, it's clear that you never want to touch any other car and, especially when you're part of the same team, you don't have to take many risks."

“This is my opinion and I hope it is taken into consideration – he continued – the team said no contact. I respected it and I hope to be able to do so in the future too."

Against, Sergio Perez he defended his behavior, justifying it with the chaos on the track at the time: “I had Vandoorne next to me and I had to avoid him, there was no room for three cars. We had a little contact, I damaged my front wing a bit but we managed to continue. We have given our opinions and everything is fine. I couldn't go anywhere."

The Mexican also said he was rather calm about the future, making a comparison with what happened, in reverse, in Baku: “The team had spoken to him after what happened in Baku. After this, however, he didn't say anything because there was nothing to say. Let's try to move forward and do the best job we can."

On their relationship, however, nothing seems to have changed: “I think we're ok. We are professional drivers, I certainly won't go up to him and punch him in the face. Our rivalry is good, we push each other hard on the track and this increases our performance. In the end it's a good thing for the team. We don't always have the fastest car, but thanks to this rivalry we are always ahead."
