F1 | Not just Vettel, Bottas and Russell were also penalized for PU changes
The Mercedes Finn will suffer a 5-place penalty. The German from Aston Martin and the Englishman from Williams will instead start from the back
Sebastian Vettel will not be the only driver to have to serve penalties during the weekend of the United States Grand Prix which opened today with the first free practice in Austin. In fact, the German was joined by Valtteri Bottas and George Russell. The Mercedes Finn will mount a new combustion engine, the sixth of the season out of the three required by the regulations, thus dropping five positions back. Furthermore, a new exhaust will be fitted to his W12, which however is among those supplied.
The British driver from Williams, however, will have a brand new power unit (fourth ICE, fourth MGU-H, fourth turbocharger, fourth exhaust) and will therefore be forced to start from the back, just like the German from Aston Martin (fourth ICE, fourth turbo , fifth exhaust, fourth MGU-H) who will also start from the last row.
