F1 | Snow and Formula One, the precedents

The first four days of testing, which began on Monday 26 February and concluded yesterday on the Montmeló track, will be remembered for the adverse weather conditions which did not spare even a mild climate zone like the Catalan one.

In particular due to the snow, which fell heavily on Wednesday, which forced the teams to abandon (or almost completely) the work planned on the Spanish track.

This episode brought to mind others, in which Formula One cars performed on the snow. Like Ferrari which in February 2016 was the protagonist with Giancarlo Fisichella in Sondrio, or the show run of Red Bull with Max Verstappen in Kitzbühel. In 2012, the Red Team itself had to cancel the public presentation of the F2012 due to snow.

Without forgetting Renault's private test in the winter of 2005 at Silverstone, where it was the snow that welcomed the French team onto the historic British track.
