The possibilities of seeing Mugello within the 2020 Formula 1 calendar are growing hour by hour. According to what was declared by Dario Nardella, mayor of Florence, the racetrack would be very close to closing an agreement with Liberty Medium for a second Italian Grand Prix, with the latter placed a week after the Monza event.
Important news, awaited by all fans, which would allow the Ferrari to celebrate the 1000th Grand Prix in the Circus on their home circuit. It should be noted that the official announcement could arrive in the next few days, presumably before the Austrian Grand Prix scheduled for July 5 at the Red Bull Ring (Liberty Media intends to close any discussion relating to the 2020 calendar by that date).
“We have never been so close to this possibility, fingers crossed,” stated the Mayor of Florence. “A second Formula 1 Grand Prix is practically certain, so we can play for it. An event of this type would be historic and would remain in the annals of motorsport, but also in the history of Florence. The possibility exists and we are really close to seeing Formula 1 at Mugello".
