F1 | Montezemolo: “Vettel no longer felt Ferrari's support”

This Monza Grand Prix weekend will be the last for Sebastian Vettel in the colors of Ferrari. Despite his farewell to the Scuderia di Maranello in 2014, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo convinced the German to sign for the following year. Now Vettel will also have to leave the team at the end of the season and on this, the Italian entrepreneur has something to say:

"I didn't like the timing and way we broke up with Seb at all – declared Montezemolo to RTL- There are always changes in life, but it depends on how they happen."

The former Ferrari president also reiterated that Vettel is not at fault regarding the divorce:

"No, absolutely no. Sebastian has never caused any problems, has always worked as a team. He achieved victories that others would not have achieved with a car that was not always competitive. Sebastian, like Michael, must feel at home. He must feel an environment that supports him, that defends him and above all that protects him. This was the case with Michael with Jean Todt and I felt it in my first days with Niki Lauda”.
