F1 | Montezemolo: “I would renew Vettel's contract”

According to the latest market rumors, Ferrari would have offered the four-time world champion the renewal of a season with the salary significantly reduced. Interviewed by “Il Resto del Carlino”, the former president of Ferrari, admitted that he would immediately confirm the German if he were still in office:

“Seb is still very fast, he has a lot of experience and I don't think he lacks motivation. Furthermore, his presence would also be useful to Leclerc, who is very talented but must confirm himself at the top after a splendid season and will therefore have much more pressure on him."

Luca Cordero di Montezemolo was then asked for his opinion on the crisis that Formula 1 is going through due to the Covid-19 pandemic; according to him, even with a shorter timetable there will still be a “worthy world champion”:

"It will be a season destined to go down in history for its uniqueness. I hope it starts as soon as possible but it will be a season destined to go down in history, precisely because of its uniqueness, the same goes for Serie A, only with guaranteed security and behind closed doors, because it will be like this for the next few times, I fear."
