F1 | Minardi: “Nobody wants to focus on young people anymore”

Gian Carlo Minardi, owner of the former team of the same name formula 1, spoke on one of the most redundant topics of recent weeks, namely that of young people. “For years I have maintained that Formula 1 lacks characters with the desire and ability to bet on young people" – thundered Minardi. “The top teams aiming for the World Championship must have already trained champions, so it is up to the others to find and develop the young people of the future. It therefore becomes essential to rely on a Junior Team".

The Italian entrepreneur also took the opportunity to respond to Gunther steiner, team manager of Haas, which in recent days had highlighted the heavy absence of teams like Minardi, willing to focus on young people despite limited resources: "Minardi's DNA has always been to work with young people. Not only as regards the drivers, but also mechanics, press officers, technicians, engineers. Figures who then found an outlet in more renowned teams" – Minardi proudly remarked.

Despite what Steiner declared, the results obtained by the Italian team in the years of its stay in Formula 1 satisfied Minardi: “Our grid was made up of much more than the current ten teams, with points awarded only to the top six finishers. All without having the protection in the supply of engines and tires present today. And despite everything, when we were motorized by Ferrari, we have reached the seventh place in the constructors' championship".
