F1 | Mick Schumacher: “It's a pride to bear this surname”

This morning the Haas VF-21 livery, a car that will be officially unveiled in Bahrain before the tests and which will participate in the next Formula 1 championship. One of the drivers under the magnifying glass will certainly be Mick Schumacher, fresh Formula 2 champion and in his first season in the top series. The German spoke to reporters about the surname he bears, when asked if this could bring him more pressure than normal.

“I've never talked about pressure, and I don't think I ever will – Mick said during a media call. I'm very happy to carry that surname and I'm equally happy to bring it back to Formula 1. I'm proud of it, it's like an extra push for me and gives me the motivation I need every single day to work as hard as possible. There are certainly different factors to deal with the pressure, obviously for me it is very important to bond strongly with the team, and this is my goal, and it is like this, so I am very happy. It is one of the crucial points, and being mentally strong in every situation is fundamental. We want to start the season on a high, hoping to be able to carry out everything I have learned over the years and compete at a high level, that's what we need."
