F1 | Mercedes, Wolff on the Singapore GP: "It will be a challenging weekend"

Interviewed by the official Mercedes website, Toto Wolff spoke about the next Singapore Grand Prix, the fourteenth round of this 2019 Formula 1 world championship, underlining how the Marina Bay circuit is an extremely complicated test bench for the teams, especially due to the conditions that they show up during the race weekend.

The length of the race, combined with the humidity and temperatures, make this weekend one of the most difficult of the season, both for the drivers and the mechanics of the cars, which will require extra concentration from every team member.

“We returned from the summer break knowing full well that the first two races would be difficult,” said Toto Wolff. “We achieved two double podiums and sixty-seven points. A more important damage limitation than we would have ever expected. However, the performances at Spa and Monza did not entirely satisfy us, an aspect that is pushing the technicians at Brixworth and Brackley to push. We want to get more victories."

On the Singapore race he added: “The next race takes us to Singapore, a spectacular night race and a great showcase for our sport. The schedule and the offset make it a challenging weekend for the team, not to mention that temperatures inside the garage can reach forty degrees."

.It's a difficult environment and we're also talking about a track that isn't exactly favorable for us, but fortunately we made our way and last year it didn't go badly,” he concluded. “It's a very particular circuit and we can't take anything for granted.”
