F1 | Mercedes, Wolff confident: "In Brazil we had the best car"

At the end of the last Brazilian Grand Prix, Toto Wolff commented on the performances of Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton on the Interlagos track, underlining how the W08 EQ Power proved to be the fastest car on the race pace. According to Wolff, Bottas lost the race at the start, given that the layout of the circuit did not allow an overtaking maneuver between two cars with the same potential. A different story however for Lewis Hamilton, penalized by the heavy mistake in Saturday's qualifying.

Here are the words of Toto Wolff: “Bottas pushed hard throughout the race, trying to get close to Vettel, but the Ferrari's potential didn't allow an overtaking maneuver. The aerodynamics were very disturbed in the second sector. A real shame because the car showed great pace in Brazil. We were probably the fastest on the track. As for Hamilton, however, he pulled off an incredible race, recovering from Saturday's contact. The guys were good at putting the car back together, also replacing the drive unit. We leave Brazil with many positive aspects, looking towards the race in Abu Dhabi with optimism."
