An error by Hamilton compromised qualifying
The boss of the German team is saddened by today's defeat, tomorrow in fact Valtteri Bottas e Lewis Hamilton they will start from third and fourth position respectively, behind Ferrari.
It is the first time since 2012 that one of the “Silver Arrows” did not obtain pole position in the circuithungaroring. Hamilton will have to wait for the summer break to try again to equal the record Michael Schumacher.
“It started really badly -commented Toto wolff- third position is not good. Lewis wasn't able to find the feeling with the car, Valtteri did better but it's not enough. However, we improved and could have fought for pole position if it hadn't been for Lewis' mistake on the second lap.".
The English rider was asked if he was surprised by the pace shown by the Ferrari:
“Not really, we knew they were fast and we were aware of their pace. I don't know if they brought any updates here but I think we did well anyway.".
