F1 | Mercedes, Valtteri Bottas anonymous and dubbed: "It was a long race"
"A race of survival, but congratulations to Lewis, he was the best" admitted Bottas, fourteenth at the finish line
Valtteri Bottas' race was totally anonymous and should be cancelled: the Finn was the victim of some contacts on the first lap, where he lost several positions. From there, he floundered to the finish line, arriving lapped by teammate Lewis Hamilton, who with the same car won the race and the seventh world title of his career. A race that represents the epilogue of this season, in which Bottas tried to challenge Lewis, but without success. Hamilton once again demonstrates his greatness, winning his seventh title, while Bottas falls into anonymity, almost never arriving on the Intercity Istanbul Park circuit.
"It was a long race. A long day – Valtteri admitted – from the first lap everything went wrong. I don't know who, but someone turned in front of me in turn one and I tried to dodge him, but I turned too. Then I had a contact in turn nine and the car was never the same again. I struggled to hold the car, I couldn't stay on the track, even with the steering wheel, a piece of the front wing was missing. It was a survival race".
"Congratulations to Lewis. He completely deserves this title: he was the best ever this year and the seventh title is an incredible achievement” concluded Bottas.
