F1 | Mercedes, Toto Wolff and Hamilton's travels: "He knows what he's doing, no one should judge him"

In recent years there has been much discussion about Lewis Hamilton's lifestyle outside of Formula 1 weekends. A worldly guy, who likes to travel, have fun and always stay in contact with his fans through his social channels. This is the English champion, and as time has passed he has increasingly accentuated this way of being. In the most difficult periods of recent times, i.e. when he lost the world championship to Rosberg or those (few) times he was defeated in the fight with Vettel in the last two years, professionals, journalists and fans pointed the finger at the style of life of Hamilton, according to them too distracted by what happens off the track. The reality of the facts is very different: when Lewis gets into his car he manages to put everything aside, concentrating exclusively on what happens on the track. He may not like this way of acting and acting, but it doesn't affect his performance in the slightest. Imagine, he even launched his own fashion line before the weekend in Singapore, traveling in order to Shanghai and New York before heading back to the East.

“I've found balance in my life, it's really nice – Hamilton said. I know that some of you asked questions about my travel plan at the beginning of the weekend, some did it in a calm way, some in a more aggressive way, and for this I am happy that you saw this performance in this weekend. Toto knows that my priority is to win this championship, more than anything else, I told him that he shouldn't even think of me thinking about anything else. Just look at my qualifying time and my driving."

“For six years I've been hearing, 'How can you let Lewis travel the world?' – said Toto Wolff. Do you know what? In the last 10 days he did something extreme: he was on the catwalk in Shanghai, then he went to New York a couple of days later. Finally he came to Singapore, did some rock and roll and blew everyone away. We don't judge what he does, no one should say what's best for him, because Lewis knows it very well."
