F1 | Mercedes, Hamilton on contract renewal: "Toto Wolff and I will talk at the end of this championship"

No news on the renewal front for Lewis Hamilton: on Thursday in Monza, in fact, the Englishman spoke about his future in Formula One, underlining how there has been no discussion with Toto Wolff regarding 2019. Hamilton has another year contract with Mercedes and hopes to be able to continue his career in Formula One in Brackley, but at the same time he prefers to think about the present, postponing discussions on renewal until the end of this championship.

Here are the words of Lewis Hamilton: “Toto said that we will wait until the end of the season to talk about the renewal and I think it is the right thing to do. We have another year on our contract and we don't have to rush things as we have all the time in the world. I heard about Vettel's contract, but for now I want to focus on the present. I have a year to think about my future and this allows me to move my decisions to later, perhaps in a few months. We have a championship to think about for now."

On Bottas he instead added: “He is a fast rider and is fighting for the world championship. I never said I wanted his help for the world championship. We are in the exact same situation and everyone does their best for the team."
