F1 | Mercedes, Hamilton finds the podium again: "Overwhelming on an emotional level"

The Canadian Grand Prix, the ninth round of the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship, smiles on Lewis Hamilton. In fact, on the Montreal track, the Englishman regained a podium finish that he hadn't achieved since the inaugural race in Bahrain. An excellent result for the seven-time world champion, who took the checkered flag behind winner Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz, who can finally smile after difficult months.

"For me this third place is overwhelming on an emotional level – declared Hamilton at the end of the race – It was a real battle with the car all year, as a team we always remained focused and never gave up. I'm really proud of my team and also of everyone who works here and in the factory. The others are a little too fast for us at the moment, but we are giving everything and we are getting closer. We have to keep pushing and hopefully we can fight with them in the end. Thanks to the Safety Car we managed to catch them, but today the pace was better. During the weekend we also worked a lot on the simulator, bringing these things to the race setup. I'm thrilled, I didn't expect this second podium of the year. It's very special, because I won my first GP here".
