F1 | Mercedes, Hamilton: “Back on the front row, I'm grateful”

Lewis Hamilton concluded qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku with the second fastest time. The Englishman recognized Valtteri Bottas' commitment, adding that it will be difficult to beat him tomorrow:

“It was a very complicated weekend for us, the Ferraris seemed incredibly fast, Valtteri did an exceptional job but it was an extraordinary result because we didn't bring the updates, unlike Ferrari. We monopolized the front row again, it's something that makes me grateful, tomorrow will be a good fight."

For the race, the five-time world champion hopes to keep away the Ferraris who until now seemed to be the favourites:

“I hope so, I think that in terms of pace we were closer in race configuration than it seemed for qualifying. I don't know if Sebastian did a good lap, maybe he didn't find the right space because the trails make a big difference here. There is a good crowd, let's hope there will be good weather tomorrow, Valtteri has always been strong here and tomorrow I will have to do a great job to beat him."
