F1 | Mercedes, Hamilton confirms: "Red Bull and Ferrari are faster, but we are close"

Fourth position for Lewis Hamilton in the second free practice session valid for the Monaco GP, sixth round of the 2018 Formula One World Championship. The Englishman confirmed the values ​​from the start of the weekend, being slightly slower than the Ferraris and Red Bulls. Despite this, however, the Mercedes standard bearer said he was very optimistic ahead of tomorrow and hopes to align himself with the fastest by definitively fixing the set-up of the W09 EQ-Power+.

Here are the words of Lewis Hamilton: “It was a good day and we didn't suffer any damage to the car, which is a good thing considering we race at this circuit. Yesterday I said that the Red Bulls would be fast and so they were. We struggled a little more, but we're not completely in a bad situation. The car works well in some places, while in others we are unable to be competitive. We will try to balance everything in view of Saturday."

On values ​​he added: “Ferrari and Red Bull are ahead, but personally I feel in a good position. I expected worse. We have something to fix, but we're talking about a couple of tenths. Nothing unsolvable for the rest of the weekend. We will work on the set-up and try to extract even more potential from the car."
