Following his second victory, some media reported that the Dutch driver could join one of the two top teams in 2019.
It would seem in fact that Mercedes e Ferrari, have offered the pilot of the Red Bull 20 million per season to have him on the team. At the moment the German team has the upper hand and is even close to having the contract signed.
It is important to point out that these are paddock rumors and that there has not yet been either confirmation or denial from both parties. Verstappen himself had declared to the with the BBC that they still want to give Red Bull a chance but at the same time they quickly need a car that will allow them to win if they want it to stay.
