F1 | Mercedes, Bottas on the renewal: "Happy and proud to continue with this team"

Interviewed by the official Mercedes website, Valtteri Bottas commented with satisfaction on the news of the contract renewal with the world champion team for the 2020 season, underlining how the primary objective is to compete for the world title with Lewis Hamilton over the course of of the next year and a half. Bottas, we remember, has achieved two successes and four pole positions during this season, an aspect that has allowed him to battle with his teammate for large stretches of this world championship.

“I am happy and proud to be part of this team for the fourth consecutive season,” said Valtteri Bottas. “I would like to thank all team members and the board of directors for the trust they have placed in me. My performances have improved year after year and this is a good way to start this second half of 2019."

“My goal is to become Formula 1 world champion,” he added. “I believe that based on my experience with the team, Mercedes is the best option to achieve this result.”

“We have nine races to go and I want to improve in each of them,” he concluded. “At the moment I'm thinking exclusively about the next Spa Grand Prix and I hope to offer a good performance to the team during this weekend.”
