F1 | Mercedes, Bottas: “Similar sensations with intermediate and full wet”

Double second place for Valtteri Bottas in the first two free practice sessions of Hungarian Grand Prix. The Finnish of Mercedes he finished behind Lewis Hamilton in PL1, with the Briton who, despite the hardest compound of all, managed to stay ahead of him, while Bottas set his best lap on the medium tyres. In the afternoon it was Sebastian Hag to print the fastest time in a session where very few pushed for a decent time in the wet track conditions. Bottas tried to be honest, but he wasn't able to do better than the German by a handful of tenths. All in all, however, a positive day for him and Mercedes.

“The car wasn't that bad in the dry in FP1 – Bottas said. It seems like everything went well with the balance, although I had a bit of understeer, but this can be resolved and I think the start of the weekend is positive. Obviously it would have been nice to ride in the dry in the afternoon too, perfecting the balance, but the conditions were the same for everyone. The grip level was very low in FP2 in the wet: I had the opportunity to try both the intermediate and full wet ones, and both gave me more or less the same sensations. It looks like more rain is forecast for the rest of the week, so I'm sure we'll continue working to make the car better for qualifying and the race."
