F1 | Mercedes, Bottas: "We are not the favorites for the French GP, it's a fact"

A veil of pessimism transpires from the words released by Valtteri Bottas a SkySports, a few days before the start of the weekend in France. Fresh from a not so brilliant weekend in Canada, La Mercedes at Paul Ricard he will present himself with one new power unit, whose introduction was originally supposed to take place in Montreal: “It's positive that we will have the new engine that we would have needed already in Canada to win the race” – said Bottas. "We hope to have more updates on the car as well because each team is developing race by race and the competition is getting tougher. We went to Canada knowing that in theory it would be a good track for us. Even with the old engine we thought there would be a good chance to fight for the win, but that wasn't the case and this shows how tough the development competition is. We have to continue to improve.".

In short, in light of the difficulties encountered in Montreal, the Finnish driver believes that Ferrari and Red Bull will once again give the Silver Arrows a hard time: "We are definitely not the favourites for the French Grand Prix, it's a fact".
