F1 | Mercedes, Bottas: “It wasn't an easy day, but in the end I took third place”

With a flourish at the end of the race Valtteri Bottas managed to conquer the lowest step of the podium in the first edition of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, held on the city track of Jeddah. The Finn managed, as happened in 2017 in Baku against Lance Stroll, to get the better of Esteban Ocon's Alpine in a photo finish. Important points taken by the standard bearer of the Star which thus allow Mercedes to increase the advantage over Red Bull in the Constructors' World Championship.

"It wasn't an easy day for me, full of obstacles and red flags that made my life complicated – said Bottas – It was probably a mistake to put the hard tires after the red flag, we continued to push until the end and on the straight I took third place. It's a beautiful track, but it's a physical and mental challenge, but I can't wait to go back next year".
