Valtteri Bottas finished the Belgian Grand Prix in third position. It wasn't a race that saw him among the protagonists, but the Finn, fresh from his renewal with Mercedes, still said he was satisfied as the car improved compared to qualifying:
“The race pace was better than what we saw in qualifying. The Ferraris were very fast on the straight, we were able to catch up on the rest of the circuit. It was a pretty good race for me in terms of strategy, I managed to get the podium and in the end I had to keep the engine and gearbox and preserve them for the next races."
