F1 | Mercedes: Bottas and Hamilton on track in the Barcelona tests
The two official drivers will drive the W09 in the Spanish tests
After Ferrari and Red Bull, Mercedes has also announced its line-up for the first of the two test sessions that will take place tomorrow and Wednesday on the Barcelona circuit. An opportunity to try new technical components but also to try new set-ups that can improve the exploitation of the tyres, the real "Achilles' heel" of the German team in this first part of the season.
As for the Catalan tests, Mercedes will field its own line-up of official drivers: Lewis Hamilton, fresh winner of the Spanish Grand Prix, will take to the track tomorrow, while Valtteri Bottas will be at the wheel of the W09 on Wednesday. This means that in the second in-season test session, which will be held after the Hungarian Grand Prix, the German team will be forced to field one of its young drivers on both days of testing, as required by the regulations.
