F1 | Mercedes, Bottas: “Everything is still at stake, we'll see what I can do tomorrow”

Third time for Valtteri Bottas in qualifying at Silverstone which determined the starting grid for the sprint race which will take place tomorrow afternoon. The Mercedes standard-bearer will therefore start from the second row, which he will share with Charles Leclerc's Ferrari, preceded by Max Verstappen's Red Bull and Lewis Hamilton's twin W12 which achieved the best performance. Bottas, discussing the performance shown, said he was satisfied ahead of the mini race.

"I'd say it was a good qualifying if we go by what we saw in practice, with a very fast Red Bull – declared Bottas – Getting pole as a team is an excellent result. I definitely went out first on the first attempt getting all the air in my face and considering that it was a good ride. With the sprint race all the opportunities are still up for grabs. Everything is still up for grabs and we'll see what I can do tomorrow. I hope I can have a good race pace and we can fight".

Bottas then, discussing his position on the track, said: “Did I team up with Hamilton? I think this is normal to get the best possible result".
