F1 | Mercedes, Bottas: “Tomorrow I can recover”

It didn't go well for Valtteri Bottas, only sixth in qualifying in Abu Dhabi and far from the hoped-for positions. The Finn was unable to make the most of the potential of his Mercedes, and tomorrow he will be very far away, at least in the early stages, from being able to give Hamilton a concrete hand in winning the world title.

“I was hoping for something more – Bottas admitted. It was a difficult day: a good Q1, a decent Q2 but in the last session I wasn't able to improve. My setup is mainly focused on race pace, so with the increase in grip I had more difficulties. I'm happy with my set-up, it should make the race more exciting. Starting with the mediums will give us different strategic options, we can go long in the first stint, it will certainly be interesting. Overall, today wasn't a great result, but I can recover tomorrow."
