F1 | Mercedes, Bottas: “With the soft tires I found the right pace”

In the Australian Grand Prix, the first round of the 2017 Formula One World Championship, held on the street track of Albert Park in Melbourne, Valtteri Bottas took third place and immediately scored points in his debut race with Mercedes. The Finn was preceded on the podium by winner Sebastian Vettel and teammate Lewis Hamilton.

"We are only at the first race – commented Bottas hotly – things could have been better, but it's a good starting point. Yesterday in qualifying not everything went well, also because I never found the right feeling on this track. The season is long and I think our race was good".

The Finn also analyzed his race in detail: “At the beginning I struggled with the ultrasofts and I lacked grip at the rear. However, I felt better with the soft ones. The car performed well and was easy to drive".

A note also on Ferrari, which returned to success today: “They were the fastest on the track, there's no doubt. They did a great job”, underlined Bottas.
