F1 | Mercedes, in Jeddah Hamilton will be able to count on the Interlagos engine

With the success achieved on Sunday on the Losail track, Lewis Hamilton brought Max Verstappen's deficit in the World Championship to just 8 points and from the next world championship round the reigning world champion will be able to once again count on the efficiency of the combustion engine fitted in the GP of St. Paul. Mercedes technical director Andrew Shovlin declared this, with the latter also admitting that the Jeddah layout should be congenial to the W12.

"We've seen pretty big performance swings in the last few races, but if we look at the Saudi track, I think it should suit us – declared Shovlin, quoted by Autosport – For Lewis we have the most powerful engine to put in the car so it will come in handy for him. Here (Losail, ed.) we had the less powerful of the two, due to the nature of the circuit. So that side is in a good place right now".
