F1 – Mercedes: 50 horsepower more in 2015

Having a few more months to develop the 2015 power units may not be enough for Mercedes' rival engine manufacturers to close the gap. Although the regulatory gap discovered by Ferrari will allow Prancing Horse and the French company to develop their units beyond February 28, this will also apply to Mercedes.

“We are not giving up,” Red Bull boss Christian Horner told F1news.ru.

“But considering the extent of our gap, and the fact that Mercedes will develop in turn, closing the gap significantly in 2015 will be difficult. If you believe the rumors, there is a risk that the gap will not only not be reduced, but that it will be even larger."

According to Auto Motor und Sport, the Mercedes engine division in Brixworth has found an additional 50 horsepower for 2015 compared to last season.
