F1 | Drivers market, Wolff: “Verstappen? He's doing well in Red Bull."

Mercedes is close to choosing the driver who will join Lewis Hamilton in 2022. Barring any twists and turns, Russell and Bottas will be playing for the seat, with the Briton increasingly favored day after day to the detriment of the #77 who could go to other shores (Alpha?). Interviewed by GPFans, Toto Wolff wanted to take stock of the situation, thinking 360 degrees about those drivers who are available or not. There was also talk about Verstappen, who will not drive Mercedes at least in the near future.

“I think Verstappen and his entourage are very happy at Red Bull – said Toto Wolff. It's their team and their home, why would they leave? We have our plans and we are focused on our plans, Ferrari have a very good pair and Norris at McLaren is very solid, so I think the path is already set. So, we're not looking for a pilot. The decision on our line-up will be made shortly, there are many different opinions within the team and the Daimler board of directors, we just have to decide once a unity of purpose is found."
