F1 | McLaren: the 2019 car will be presented on February 14

After Ferrari, Racing Point and Renault, McLaren also reveals the presentation date of its single-seater for the 2019 Formula 1 world championship. The new pair of drivers, formed by Carlos Sainz Jr. and Lando Norris, will unveil the new MCL34 on February 14th, Valentine's Day.

2019 will have to be the year of redemption for the Woking team, after a 2018 lacking in satisfaction which also saw them lose Fernando Alonso, who announced his (temporary) retirement to dedicate himself to other competitions and new challenges. The reorganization of McLaren continues and after the farewell of Eric Boullier and Tim Goss last season, many technicians should arrive to strengthen the technical department of the English team, among which James Key stands out, the engineer from Toro Rosso who should become the point of reference for a team that must make important steps forward to return to the glories of the past. All that is missing for Key's arrival in McLaren is the official announcement, even if it was confirmed unofficially by the team's managers.

Two new drivers will also join the team next season, Carlos Sainz Jr., coming from Renault to replace compatriot Fernando Alonso, and Lando Norris, a young talent from the McLaren academy.

The presentation dates revealed so far

  • February 12: Renault
  • February 13: Racing Point
  • February 14: McLaren
  • February 15: Ferrari
  • 18-21 February: first pre-season test
  • 26 February – 1 March: second pre-season test
