F1 | McLaren, Sainz on Alonso's future: "It's still too early to judge whether he will return"
On the victory won by the two-time world champion at Daytona he added: "Impressed, but not surprised"
di Roberto Valenti5 February 2019
At a sponsor event held in Madrid, Carlos Sainz commented on the rumors of Fernando Alonso's possible return to Formula 1, underlining that it is still too early to predict the future moves of the two-time World Champion. According to what the Spaniard reported, in fact, the former McLaren left the team only a few months ago, an aspect that certainly postpones any discussion to the future.
Here are the words of Carlos Sainz on the victory won by the Spaniard in Daytona: “I'm impressed by what he did, but I'm honestly not surprised. I know what Fernando is capable of."
On a possible return of the two-time world champion he added: “It's still too early to judge whether he will return. After all, he just left”.
