F1 | McLaren, Sainz: “I'm very happy with qualifying”

Good step forward for the English team in qualifying for the German Grand Prix, with Carlos Sainz's seventh time. The rookie Lando Norris, however, was further back, excluded from Q2 and forced to recover from sixteenth position. These are the statements from the McLaren drivers:

Carlos Sainz: “Obviously I'm very happy with this qualifying especially because I think our rivals had one more advantage than us today. However, we managed to react very well during the session, I completed some consistent laps to improve and we managed to get into Q3. We are in a good starting position. Everyone makes assumptions about the weather conditions for the race but no matter what it will be, we are ready to fight for the points."

Land Norris: “Obviously I'm disappointed, it's the first time I haven't made it into Q2 and it's frustrating because tomorrow I won't have a good starting position. There was more potential in the car as Carlos showed that he managed to get into Q3. I wasn't able to do a good lap when it counted, I'll have to fix that tomorrow."
