F1 | McLaren first team to sign the new Concorde Agreement

With a note published on its official website this afternoon, McLaren made official the signing of the new Concorde Agreement which will come into force in Formula One starting from next season and which will regulate it until 2025. The Woking team was therefore the first team to sign the principles that will govern the future Circus, thus reaffirming the long-term commitment in this category.

McLaren has been in Formula One since 1966 and to date boasts 873 Grands Prix, with 182 victories to its credit, in addition to 8 Constructors' and 12 Drivers' World Championships.

"Formula 1 has taken another important step on the road to a strong and sustainable future with the new agreement. This is the right deal at the right time for the sport, its owners, its teams and, above all, the fans – declared Zak Brown, CEO McLaren -. A fairer sport is better for everyone: greater balance in revenue sharing between all teams and clearer, simpler governance that cuts out vested interests and puts sport first. This agreement will make F1 manufacturers collectively stronger in the long term".

The American manager then added:  "The new agreement complements and builds on the great work carried out in recent months by F1, the FIA and all teams on future financial, technical and sporting regulations. Everyone had to give ground for the greater outcome, which will be a more competitive, exciting and thriving Formula 1 for future generations, which in turn will ensure a healthy sport for both participants and fans".
