F1 | McLaren, Ojjeh: “The disappointment is enormous, even for Honda”

With a less than positive start to the season, McLaren is trying in every way to get out of a crisis which, unfortunately, seems to have no end. Talking about the current situation was Mansour ojjeh, entrepreneur and shareholder of the team.

In Bahrain last weekend, Ojjeh took the opportunity to give everyone his opinion, which was not at all positive: “The disappointment is enormous, even for Honda – he told Auto Hebdo – they promised us a lot and we are the first to be disappointed at being able to offer so little. They said mea culpa but this still doesn't make us feel positive."

The leaders have already started thinking about the future, but nothing is yet clear: “We are working on different scenarios, but I can't talk about them at the moment. We are spending a lot of time and energy in meetings to find a solution. And quickly. We have a culture of great victories and we cannot continue like this."

Golden words instead for Fernando Alonso: “He is a great rider and has suffered for two years. He wants the triple crown, I told him that he is crazy to go to Indianapolis but we talked to Juan Pablo Montoya and he told us not to worry and that he will adapt easily. Fernando wants to win at Le Mans, on a personal level I would really like McLaren to return to Le Mans, but he wants to do it in an LMP1. For the moment, however, our priority is to have a good engine in Formula 1."
