F1 | McLaren, Norris: “A bit annoyed, I could have taken the second row”

Perhaps something more was expected from Lando Norris and from McLaren in general. The Briton was unable to do more than seventh place in Portugal, and tomorrow he will therefore start from the fourth row alongside Charles Leclerc, perhaps one of the most disappointed in qualifying. After the good performances in Bahrain and Imola, a slightly more uphill race is expected for the young Englishman, and the difficulties of the Woking team could force him into a suffering race, but with the awareness of having the top 5 within reach by hand.

“I am reasonably satisfied – Norris said. A little annoyed to be honest because we could have done a little more, perhaps third or fourth place on the grid I would say, I say this with absolute confidence. On two of my attempts in Q3 I was slowed down by a slower car in front of me at the last corner, so I had to abort quite early, but other than that I'm happy with my performance. The car is fine, maybe difficult to drive, but fast. There are some positive aspects, let's see what we can do in the race tomorrow."
