F1 | McLaren, Norris motivated: “I'll just focus on myself”
“I will have a season to learn and adapt, so I'm not worried,” he stressed
In a chat given to the microphones of Auto Motor Und Sport, Lando Norris compared his situation with that of Stoffel Vandoorne, underlining how the performances shown by the Belgian in the last three years are not a problem
The Englishman, in fact, prefers to focus on himself, avoiding reasoning that could only confuse his ideas, especially in view of the duel with Carlos Sainz in 2019.
Norris, as Zak Brown has often stated, will have a season of apprenticeship with the Woking team, which will allow him to learn the secrets of the trade without too much pressure.
Here are the words of Lando Norris: “It's difficult to understand why Stoffel wasn't able to get the most out of his performances. Personally I only focus on myself. If Carlos manages to be faster in the first race, I will analyze exactly what he was strongest at. I'll have a season to learn and adapt, so I'm not worried."
On the path taken by McLaren he added: “I was at the factory recently and talked to several people. I believe that the right foundations are being laid for the future. Everyone has confidence and knows what to improve on. We said the same thing last year too, but now the situation is significantly different, given that during the last few months we have worked on understanding the problems. It will take time, but the goal is certainly not to win races in 2019."
