F1 | McLaren, Norris: “It was a really good day”

Make way for young people in the Formula 1 tests in Hungary. The drivers of the future have in fact shown all their potential before the eyes of the world, testing themselves in long and very fast sessions. Among the most surprising of the second day was certainly the McLaren standard bearer Lando Norris.

The Formula 3 driver took home an impressive 91 laps and concluded his session with the second fastest time in his first "official" outing in the cockpit of an F1 car.

“Lando impressed us all with his maturity, his professionalism and his speed,” he said Eric boullier at Autosport – he was very fast in his first outing with the MCL32. His feedback with the engineers has been valuable and precise and is definitely an asset to our line of test drivers, not to mention him being a potential star for the future.”

Norris' joy was also evident, satisfied by this great experience: “It was a really good and very productive day for everyone. I managed to pass all the tests that the team asked me to complete and everything went well."

“Getting used to the car was a good challenge at the beginning, but then at the end of the day I felt very comfortable – he continued – I did a lot of laps and I really appreciated this experience”.

A result that, hopefully, will open up many new experiences in the future: “I want to say a big thank you to the team for offering me this opportunity. I hope it's just the first of many others."
