F1 | McLaren fined for unsafe release on Vandoorne's car
The Belgian closed free practice 2 prematurely due to a rear tire that wasn't tightened correctly
di Roberto ValentiApril 13, 2018
With a press release published a few minutes ago, the Race Direction in Shanghai confirmed a fine of 5000 euros to McLaren for the unsafe release caused this morning on Stoffel Vandoorne's car. The Belgian, we remember, during the second free practice session was sent onto the track with a badly screwed rear tyre, a factor which forced the Woking Scuderia driver to end his hour and a half of work early with a view to the race.
As with Haas in Australia and Ferrari in Bahrain, the team led by Zack Brown will have to deal with this fine, also verifying the correct functioning of all procedures relating to the pit stop.
