F1 | McLaren, bad Ricciardo: “I'm obviously disappointed”
The Australian will start from the seventh row at Silverstone
It didn't go well at all for Daniel Ricciardo, fourteenth at Silverstone and therefore relegated to the seventh row. The Australian McLaren driver didn't have the right timing in Q2, when at the start of the session the track was significantly faster than at the end, given the rain that arrived in the final minutes. The former Red Bull is therefore called upon to make a comeback to try to gain a position in the points in the race.
“It's a very disappointing result – admits Ricciardo. I think, in hindsight, I needed to lap straight away, because the track was better at the start of Q2, as I struggled to push when it really mattered. I had found a dry line on my lap, then I pinched the wet and so that was it. All this has put us back on the grid a bit, we have to work hard tomorrow but I'll try to come out well!”.
