F1 | McLaren, Lando Norris: “We couldn't have done more”

Another great result for Lando Norris, who finished the first of two races on his home circuit in fifth position. A solid race, that of Lando and McLaren, especially after the Hungarian disappointment: of course, the sudden retirements in the final moments of the race, including the unexpected one by teammate Sainz, helped Norris to recover important positions and points, even if he was hot the overtaking immediately by the man with whom he will share the garage next year, Daniel Ricciardo.

"A good race. I made some mistakes by pushing too much in the first lap. Due to a lock I lost a position, but the rest of the race was good – said Lando – I don't think ours was the fastest car on the track, at least compared to our direct rivals. We suffered a bit from tire degradation, because we had to push harder than I would have liked, but the result is still excellent. Carlos was really unlucky with the puncture. I don't think we could have done more than that.".
