F1 | McLaren, Lando Norris is second: “We can improve”

Excellent progression from Lando Norris during the first day of free practice in Texas. The British driver concluded FP1 with the eighth best time, behind the two Ferraris, while the situation was completely reversed in the afternoon, where Norris was second, two tenths behind the leader Sergio Perez. A truly promising time that could place Lando among the front rows for the start of the United States Grand Prix. McLaren, already in 2019 - the last time COTA hosted F1 - showed itself competitive in Texas and Norris has in his hands the possibility of being able to pull ahead of Ferrari in the constructors' championship, with the red car slightly in difficulty in the corners of Austin.

"A decent Friday. It was hot today, conditions were complicated at times, with bumps and wind – explained Norris – not an ideal day for the riding conditions, but in terms of pace, compared to our rivals, I think we are in a good position. Tonight we will get to work and try to soften the car, to try to have even more confidence to push further in qualifying. We'll see what happens".
