F1 | McLaren, the point on the market: Carlos Sainz at the top of the wish list for 2019

Furthermore, the class of '98 should not be discarded Lando Norris, third driver of the English team and currently involved in Formula 2.

CONFIRMATIONS ON SAINZ - “We think Carlos is an excellent driver. He is potentially on the market, but we don't know his precise situation with Renault and Red Bull. He is certainly someone who, as you scroll down the list of drivers, you would think about putting in the car. If he were free and if we had a place, he would certainly be at the top of our minds.".

ALONSO-VANDOORNE, THE SITUATION - “We have a long-term agreement with Stoffel and Fernando, but as you can imagine in these contracts there is a variety of elements for them. When we are ready, we will make our decision. I expect it will happen sometime after the summer break. We are still reviewing and analyzing what would ultimately be the best combination for McLaren moving forward. Stoffel is definitely part of this set of considerations”.

NORRIS, EVERYTHING TO SEE - “We think Lando is obviously going to be a star of the future. When you have a talent like him you have to do everything to keep him in the family, then the general scenario will have to be evaluated. But for now there is certainly nothing compared to what I have read around".
