F1 | McLaren forced to lay off 1200 employees

The Woking stable, following the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, was forced to adopt drastic measures which unfortunately involve the staff. In fact, it seems that as many as 1200 employees will be fired.

“We are deeply saddened by the impact this reorganization will have on our employees, and in particular those at risk of their jobs”, McLaren Group Executive Chairman Paul Walsh said in a statement."

“We have worked hard to avoid this by implementing a series of measures to dramatically cut costs across all areas of the business. Now, however, we have no other choice, we have to reduce our workforce. It is a difficult time for our company, and in particular for our employees, but we intend to overcome it as an efficient company with a clear path to growth again."
